Fieldcrest Paired Homes - Landscaping and Lawn Care Services

Contracted Company: John Hurst Outdoor Services
Contact Person: John Hurst, Owner 556-7459

The services described here specifically cover the section of Piney-Z Plantation called Fieldcrest, which contains 132 paired homes. Outlined below are the details related to the services for those 132 lawns. It is recognized that different residents have varying ideas concerning how much lawn care they are expecting. The fees for which the property owners are assessed are for the specific tasks below. Adding additional services or more lawn care visits could result in higher CDD assessments for property owners. Property owners are welcome to perform other lawn care tasks on their own. In order to meet their lawn care desires, residents are also welcome to arrange for more services in addition to what is provided through the CDD assessments, such as weed eradication, lawn treatments, special plantings, etc.. Mr. Hurst is available for advice or an estimate for some additional services.

Routine Services Provided Through Fieldcrest CDD Assessments

  • Mowing / Mulching the Lawn: Mow and mulch the lawn to give a manicured appearance. Take all reasonable precautions to prevent scalping of uneven lawns with a mower blade of no more than 4 inches. Blades are to be kept sharp to prevent fraying of the grass. Pine needles, leaves, and grass clippings, are to be mulched in order to keep the manicured appearance.
  • Edging of Hardscaped Areas (driveways, sidewalks, patios, bed areas): The property will be edged each time the yards are mowed. Areas that are inaccessible with a mower will be serviced with a weed eater.
  • Weeding: Original flower beds (established when home was built) in front of homes will be weeded as needed by hand pulling or with herbicide. Lawns are not weeded. Hedging: Hedging will be done on a monthly basis.
  • Blowing: Blowing of grass clippings on the hardscaped areas such as driveways, sidewalks, and patios, will be done after each mowing. Mowing may occur early in the day and the blowing late in the day.
  • Litter: Litter and trash in yards will be picked up on each service visit. Litter should not be mowed over but collected and discarded appropriately. (Litter that appears in-between visits is the responsibility of the property owner).
  • Irrigation Services: None. However, the landscaper will repair anything his crew damages. Property owners own their own irrigation systems. You can contact Mr. Hurst if you need advice or an estimate for a repair. You may also wish to contact the builder or company that installed your system.
  • Pine Straw / Fertilizer: Pine straw will be placed in front beds and the yards fertilized in the Spring and Fall.

Mr. Hurst encourages residents to call him (556-7459) if they have any questions about the services provided, concerns, or compliments. He communicates regularly with the Piney-Z CDD Property Manager (656-4007).
