Elections

HOA Elections

The annual meeting of the association was held July 22, 2008 at 7:00pm in the Lodge. We had 2 candidates for the 3 available seats, Rosemary White and Richard Steele. Those candidates were elected and the Board is seeking to appoint an additional member.

CDD Board Candidates

Information on the candidates for Seats 2 and 4 of the CDD Board can be found on page 6 of the Local Candidates List (PDF). Voting for CDD candidates will occur as part of the November 4 General Election.

Message from the Supervisor of Elections Office

The Leon County Supervisor of Elections office would like to alert Piney-Z residents to a few important dates this important election year.  We are doing our best to try and see to it that as many of our valued citizens are registered to vote and have their information current with our office.

The deadline to register to vote in the state of Florida is twenty-nine days before an election, so for the upcoming elections August 26th, and November 4th the deadlines to register are July 28th and October 6th.  Keep in mind that Florida is also a closed primary state which means that if you are not registered with one of the two major parties, Democrat or Republican, before the registration deadline you will not be able to participate in candidate selection for the August primary unless all  candidates for office are of the same party.

New this year are four Early Voting sites operating two weeks before each election this fall. Along with the courthouse location, we now have Early Voting at the Northeast Branch Library, Ft. Braden Branch Library and Woodville Community Center/Library.  For specific dates and times, please visit our website at www.leoncountyfl.gov/elect.
