Solid Waste Services
Solid Waste Services provides garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky item collection services for residential and commercial customers inside the Tallahassee city limits. Refer to the Red/Blue Week Collection Schedule.Piney-Z Waste Pickup Schedule

More Information
- Report a missed garbage or recycling pickup online. Electronics are no longer picked up by Solid Waste Services.
- For those who are physically unable to roll a recycling or garbage cart to the curb, Helping Hands Service provides both weekly garbage pickups and the recycling pickup at the back door at no extra charge. If you believe you qualify, call 891-4YOU.

- Beyond the Cart—find out how to recycle items that don't go in the Smart Cart, such as electronics, plastic bags, and batteries.
Please remember that the Covenants and Restrictions states that garbage and recycle bins must be "located in appropriate areas concealed from public view". Some homeowners have devised attractive solutions to hide their trash containers. Take a walk through the community or contact the ACC Committee for ideas.

- The Tallahassee Police Department can be reached at 891-4200. They offer a weekly e-alerts that you can access online or subscribe to receive by email.
- The Tallahassee Fire Department can be reached at 891-6600. They offer a monthly "Newsladder" that you can access online or subscribe to receive by email.
- Join Piney Z's Crime Watch Committee and take an active role in community security.
- Though technically not a city service, the Leon County Sheriff's Office can be reached at 922-3300.

Neighborhood and Community Services
Animal Services
The Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center offers a variety of services to the community including pet adoptions; a lost-and-found program; humane education classes; free transportation of adopted pets to your veterinarian for an adoption health check-up and neutering; a microchip I.D. for adopted pets; pet transportation to veterinarians for disabled people; 24-hour emergency on-call service for stray, sick or injured animals; euthanasia of terminally ill pets at no charge to the owner; and acceptance of owner-surrendered pets at no charge to the owner.
